Home sellers seek creative solutions to down economy

I came across a story this morning in the Montgomery Advertiser written by Mary Sell.  Here is link to the story - Montgomery Advertiser story

In today's market, homes that are priced above $250,000 will take a longer amount of time to sell.  In order to reduce that time, sellers do have to be creative in the incentives offered to get the homes under contract.

Here in the Mobile area, I have seen incentives such as large flat screen TVs, furnishings offered as incentives offered by the seller to the buyer.  There was a listing over in Baldwin County that was offering a car to the new owner.  Just like in Montgomery, the builders here are offering similar incentives to get buyers to purchase their homes.

As a buyer, keep these things in mind if you are shopping for homes that are in the upper price ranges.
